We store the information needed to create and operate your Definit, including account details, profile information, uploaded knowledge sources, settings, chat sessions, and message history.
- Knowledge sources: Uploaded documents and sources are stored securely and isolated to your account.
- Profile data: Your display name, profile information, and Definit settings remain private unless you choose to make your profile discoverable.
- Conversations: Chat sessions and message history are stored securely and remain limited to you and the people participating in those conversations.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide the product, including account access, profile customization, knowledge indexing, retrieval, AI responses, conversation history, discovery controls, and support.
By uploading content, you allow DefinitAI to process and index that content so your Definit can retrieve relevant context and respond more usefully.
No Selling
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or knowledge sources. We may use trusted infrastructure providers to operate the service, but they are only permitted to process data for the services they provide to us.
Data Control
You can update your profile, control discoverability, and request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@definitai.com.
Security
We take data security seriously. DefinitAI uses industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted storage where appropriate, secure authentication, JWT-based sessions, bcrypt password hashing, and access controls designed to restrict your data to your account.
For vector search and retrieval, DefinitAI uses Pinecone with per-user namespaces to help keep knowledge sources isolated by account.
